These months offer clear skies, making outdoor activities like hiking and sightseeing more enjoyable. Avoid the peak monsoon season (June to August) to minimize disruptions from heavy rains, especially in mountainous areas like Sapa.

Pack light layers to accommodate the cool evenings in Sapa and warmer days in Hanoi. Comfortable walking shoes are essential for city exploration and mountain treks.

Practical Tips for Indian Travellers

  • Local Transport: Private cabs and transfers are typically arranged by your tour operator, providing hassle-free travel between cities and attractions. Within cities, walking and short taxi rides are common.
  • Food and Diet: Vietnamese cuisine is fresh and lightly spiced, featuring rice, herbs, and seafood. If you have dietary preferences, communicate them in advance to your hosts or guides.
  • Cultural Etiquette: Show respect at religious sites and local markets. Dress modestly when visiting temples, and always greet with a smile.
  • Packing Essentials: Besides clothing, carry sunscreen, insect repellent, and any personal medications. A universal travel adapter is useful for charging devices.
