Best Time to Visit and Weather Tips

The ideal time for this Kerala journey is from October to March. During these months, the weather is cool and pleasant, perfect for outdoor activities like tea garden walks in Munnar or wildlife spotting in Thekkady. Avoid the monsoon season (June to September) if you prefer dry conditions, although Kerala’s lush greenery is at its best during the rains.

Daytime temperatures generally range from 20°C to 30°C. Nights in the hills can be cooler, so pack accordingly. The humidity is moderate to high, especially near the coast and backwaters.

Practical Tips for a Smooth Trip

  • Travel Documents: Indian travellers do not require a visa for domestic travel but ensure your ID proof is handy for hotel check-ins and transport.
  • Local Transport: The package includes private chauffeur-driven transfers, providing comfort and flexibility. For independent travel, auto-rickshaws and taxis are widely available in cities.
  • Food & Cuisine: Kerala cuisine is rich and diverse—try authentic dishes like appam with stew, Kerala fish curry, and traditional vegetarian thalis. If you have dietary preferences, inform hotels in advance.
  • Cultural Etiquette: Dress modestly, especially when visiting temples or rural areas. Kerala locals are warm and hospitable; a simple "Namaskaram" with a smile goes a long way.
  • Packing Essentials: Light cotton clothes for the day, a light jacket for hill stations, comfortable walking shoes, insect repellent, sunscreen, and a reusable water bottle are recommended.
