Spring offers beautiful cherry blossoms and blossoming gardens, while autumn highlights vibrant fall foliage, creating picturesque family photo opportunities. Summers can be hot and humid, especially in Busan, while winters are cold, sometimes with snow, which might be challenging for younger kids.

Practical Tips for Indian Families Visiting South Korea

Visa and Travel Documents

Indian travellers require a valid visa to enter South Korea. It is advisable to apply well in advance and ensure all family members’ documents are in order. Many tour packages include visa assistance, which simplifies the process.

Local Transport

South Korea has an excellent public transport system with efficient subways, buses, and taxis in both Seoul and Busan. Families can comfortably use subway cards for convenient travel. For airport transfers and intercity travel, private cabs or trains are widely available and safe.

Food and Dining

Korean cuisine offers many child-friendly options such as mild bibimbap (mixed rice), Korean BBQ, and street snacks. Many restaurants in tourist areas offer English menus, and international cuisines are also available. It’s helpful to carry some snacks familiar to Indian children, especially during long sightseeing days.

Cultural Etiquette and Packing

Respect local customs like removing shoes when entering traditional homes or some restaurants. English is not widely spoken outside main tourist spots, so a translation app can be handy.
